Help for Frankie Douglas

Hi everyone I would like to introduce you to the Douglas family! Billie is a wonderful mother and an amazing friend! She needs a little bit of help! Her daughter Frankie has a rare disease and needs to travel from Salmon Arm to Vancouver children's hospital often. There is a van that someone is holding for us until we can get the money. The cost of the van is $1600.00. Here is Billie's story. Thank you for taking the time to read it. Fwd: September 4th 2012 our lives changed as we know it. It was a very scary emotional day when they said something was wrong with Frankie's bones and I asked what the worst case scenario would be and was told it could possibly be some sort of rare bone cancer. They also said they had never seen this before. It was a very long drive to Vancouver Children's Hospital. Two weeks of tests poking and prodding we were happy to find out it wasn't cancer and also very thankful. It ended up being McCune Albright polyostotic fiberous dysplasia which causes many issues one being brittle bones from then to now, she has been in casts, I have to say more than not. She has fractured seven times and has broken both of her femurs. She has a rod in one and the other one was set wrong so she now needs to have it re broken, at least three times and rodded. One of many surgeries in Frankies future. This also causes many other issues, she's had her thyroid removed she has elevated estrogen causeing your bones to age faster. She also has craniofacial which causes facial deformities and in her case they say its thickening above the optic nerve they are afraid it will take her eyesight. It causes precocious puberty, cafe au lait spots, worst part is the pain I fear she will experience in her life. Despite so much she's a 3 year old ray of sunshine! Even when she breaks she's always concerned about telling me it's going to be ok. She's so strong and will always be OK because she knows nothing else I know no matter what she will always keep her smile shes my hero ...... thank you for taking the time to read her story
