There are around 30 million street dogs in India. India is saturated with street dogs and life for these guys is seriously tough. Thousands are killed weekly in fights, traffic accidents, starving, or being beaten by humans.
Traveling in India and volunteering at Peepal farm, I learnt that these dogs aren't feral packs, they're loving, loyal, goofy and affectionate, just like your pets at home.
Peepal farm is doing amazing work for so many stray dogs but the sad reality is that they are at max capacity, they can't keep taking dogs in urgent need of help with so many dogs here waiting for homes.
Adoptions in India are tough and unless we find these guys homes they have to go back to the streets. Dogs like Pumpkin and the gang, who have been here since pups, simply wouldn't survive the streets and their ending is likely to be painful and cruel! These guys are just Too Sweet for Our Streets! These dogs have become like family to me so the prospect of this is unbearable. Image this fate for one of the pets you have, or know, and love.
However, these guys have a chance of a new life and forever homes in Canada, with your help.
Starting with Pumpkin, Karishma, and Karina, we can get them flights to start a new life. This goal isn't capped. I'd like to get as many of these dogs as possible to their new homes because in doing so, it will also free up space for Peepal Farm to take new dogs in desperate need of medical care.
How much can you give to help get these guys new homes? No amount is too small. Let's get these guys out of here and to their new homes!
