Tryg and Janet Culp need your help. Tryg has been diagnosed with cancer and is presently in Seattle waiting to undergo major surgery to remove it. What began as minor stomach trouble has evolved into a life threatening illness. Over the course of the last month Tryg has spent 18 grueling days in the hospital, first in Wenatchee where the cancer diagnosis was eventually made, and then on to Seattle where he was able to find the best care and top surgeons for the major surgery. During his hospitalizations he underwent numerous painful procedures to open up his digestive tract so that he could eat and drink again, losing over 30 pounds in the process. He is currently too weak to undergo major surgery and the chemo that will most likely follow and must wait six weeks so that he can build up his strength. Janet and Tryg are currently staying at Tryg’s sister’s house near Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle where the surgery will eventually take place.
Thankfully, Tryg’s insurance covers most of the medical expenses he has incurred, but there are a lot of out-of-pocket expenses they need help with. These include expensive drugs prescribed by the doctor but not covered by insurance, co-pays, travel and living expenses in Seattle, keeping things on track back at home, and the like. The bills are racking up, and as you can imagine, this is a huge worry they certainly don’t need at this time. As most of you know, Janet and Tryg have stepped up many times to help people in need in our community and both are stalwart leaders and volunteers in many community organizations. Many of you have already reached out and asked how you might help. Here’s your chance to give back to them in a big way! This Go Fund Me account will really help with finances stretched thin by this prolonged medical process. We appreciate any amount you can give towards our goal of $10,000. No amount is too small! The money collected will go a long ways towards giving Tryg and Janet some peace of mind as they wait, undergo the surgery, and finally go through the long recovery process.
