Please help me continue medical school!

My name is Omon Smith. I am a 3rd year medical student at University of Medicine and Health Sciences. Since elementary I knew that I wanted to reach for my highest goal in life which was to become a doctor. I am greatly inspired by both of my parents particularly my Dad who despite having been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, declared legally blind, and paralyzed continued his goal of obtaining his Master’s of Science in Agricultural Engineering from Prairie View A&M. He is not with my family today, but I continue to make him proud! My mom is a single widowed devoted parent and dedicated inner city elementary school teacher at Scroggins Elementary (HISD) rearing myself and 5 other siblings. She has done her best to make sure that we graduated from college and became successful at what we did. She is currently helping to support my 3 siblings in college at this time as well. I am a graduate of Osborne Elementary, Klein Intermediate, Klein Forest High, and Lamar University. There have been obstacles along the way, but I have continued to persevere despite odds. After interviewing at 4 medical schools and being denied acceptance, I did not give up and found a way to be able to pursue popular options such as United States schools offshore known as Caribbean medical schools. I was willing to live on an underdeveloped island for 2 years to continue my journey towards becoming a physician. It has been extremely difficult financially for me along the way, but God has continued to open doors for me. Now that I am in medical school, my mother has helped to support me for 2 years as best as she can. I have also enrolled in a master’s program while in medical school to support my tuition and living expenses. My school is fairly new and only offers private loans to “qualified students” but does not offer U.S. government student loans at the present time. Nonetheless, the UMHS Bursar department has been very understanding.
I currently am in my last semester and prepping for the USMLE Step 1 exam in Portland, Maine. My next step will be to start 3rd year clinical rotations in U.S. hospitals. Caribbean medical schools contract hospitals throughout the U.S. and I will have to move where ever I am placed and this will be a financial constraint for me. The tuition will also rise and unfortunately I nor my family do not have the financial means to help me continue my goals towards becoming a physician. Can you please help me find a way to pay for tuition in order for me to continue my journey! My school is on a quarter system and we have 3 semesters in 1 year. In order to continue medical school, helping me to afford 1 year tuition will greatly help my cause. I would be able to afford the last year of my tuition with future savings from the master’s program that I am currently enrolled in. However, anything is greatly appreciated in my pursuit toward higher education and becoming a physician. Those that know me very well can attest that I have a strong commitment in primary care, giving back to the community, and giving to others the opportunity to pursue their highest potential as I was afforded. Further information can be obtained from my school website. http://www.umhs-sk.org/ Thank you again for planting a financial seed in my education.
