The dog we're rescuing
She looks like a puppy mill mother, based on other pictures in the craigslist ad. We're trying to raise the funds to rescue her and get her into a good foster home and eventually into a good permanent home.
The plan is to pass the money to the Short Mugs rescue group (www.shortmugsrescuesquad.org), a Texas based dog rescue group specialized in brachycephalic dogs (ie French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Pugs, and Boston Terriers). They don't buy dogs, but have agreed to foster her if we can raise the money to get her from the owner. They provide loving foster homes and medical care to the dogs they rescue and work to place them with adopting families that will take care of them and love them.
Short Mugs and friends are going to attempt to negotiate to get the dog out for less than the asking price, and any extra money left over after rescuing this sweet girl will go to Short Mugs to pay for medical care and other dog-related expenses for her and other rescue dogs like her.
