Darlene Breast Cancer Recovery

Donation protected
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to check out my mom's gofundme page!

My mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Because her cancer has progressed enough to be cause for concern, she is now having a massectomy (possibly double) to stop the spread of the disease.

This has all happened very suddenly and unexpectedly since there is no history of breast cancer in her family, and the recovery is going to take some time.

Anyone who knows my mom knows what a kind and caring person she is.

And for those who don't know her so well, one of the best ways for you to understand the type of person she is, is through her kids.

I am technically an only child. But I've never felt that way and my mom hasn't viewed me that way since I was about 3 years old. That's when she agreed to have my cousin (who was also about 3) come live with us. We've grown up together bascially as siblings - competing, agruing, scheming ...the occasional hug - and he now has 2 young children who she considers her grandchildren - and spoils them like it :P

Then, about 6 months ago, life threw another surpise at my mom and she took in 4 foster kids. Her and her boyfriend - Bart - have done an amazing job providing all 4 kids with a much better life than they had previously, but with this newest development, 4 (high-matinence, special needs) kids is going to be espcially challenging.

My mom and Bart agreed right away that they were going to give the kids a permanent home, and that hasn't changed with the diagnoses of breast cancer.

But, while my mom is recoving from her surgery, they could use a little extra help managing everything so she can relax and heal as much as possible.

That's why I've created this :)

(...and she doesn't know about it so, shhhhhh)

I'm asking for donations to help with things like babysitting fees, activites outside the house for the kids, to relieve a little of the financial strain they've taken on with 4 new kids, AND I plan to get her a TON of flowers to brighten her days after surgery.

Any donation would be appreciated. Every little bit will go towards helping a wonderful woman recover from what has been a pretty scary and stressful experience (she's handled it like a champ, of course). Even $1 just to show your support would mean the world.

Thank you!
