Help Jordan Stay In School

Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Through the years I have also witnessed the value of education, and I strive to put my scholarly duties above all else. Through this decision, I was able to take a different route that many my peers were unable to follow. I graduated in the top percentile of my high school and went onto enroll the prestigious engineering college known as Worcester Polytechnic Institute to pursue my dreams as a Mechanical Engineer. I am now a sophomore, and even though many obstacles have stood in my way throughout the past year I’m still determined to continue my education. I have consistently worked my way through any academic barriers that were put in front of me and have earned excellent grades. However, the one thing I cannot solve is money. Over the past, I was able to rely on loans and scholarships to get me through the financial side of college. But, for this coming year, my school has raised the tuition, and I am receiving less aid from scholarships. This has put me in quite a tough spot, and if I don’t come up with enough money, I may have to transfer out of the school. I have always dreamed of becoming a successful engineer and doing something that many people who come from the same background as me haven’t been able to do. I am determined to graduate from college so that one day I will be able to reach out to other children in need of help with funding their education. Please help me achieve this goal.
