Can You Lend The Swindles A Hand?

Donation protected
When people say they put ‘blood, sweat, and tears’ into a project, it’s typically a metaphor. For Joey Swindle, co-founder of Evangalist, the phrase became very literal. While laying flooring in the new Evangalist office, Joey lost 3 ⅔ fingers in a bout with a table saw. Without shedding a tear, he was driven by ambulance to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth, then flown via Careflight to Parkland in Dallas. At both hospitals he was attended to by talented professionals who managed to save 2 fingers, leaving him without his left index finger and part of his thumb. But don’t worry folks, he’s right handed.

In total Joey required three surgeries and a week of hospital care, much of it in the ICU. With a wife and two boys, the accident has put a large unforeseen financial burden on the Swindles. They’ve had to put their plans to adopt a little girl on hold. Joey’s spirits are high and he refuses to slow down (even though he should), and if you know him you know he isn’t the one writing out this message. On behalf of the entire Evangalist family, we’d like to kindly request that you’d consider helping this family who we know would help us at a moment’s notice. Even if you can’t lend a hand, a finger will do.
