save me with a diabetic alert dog
Donation protected
HI, My name is Meagen, and I have been living with type 1 juvenile diabetes for 27 years. I am now 31, and suffering from the long term side effects of this chronic disease. I was approved for a diabetic alert dog ,however it is my responsibility to pay the entire cost. I wish I could just write a check, but unfortunately I can't. It's a big goal, but this dog would be amazing. They are trained to alert you if your blood sugar level drops below 80, or raises above 150. This dog will stop at nothing to wake you in your sleep, which is when I have the dangerous lows.I have ended up in the ICU many times because of this. Having this dog by my side would prevent this from ever happening again. I now have an insulin pump, so it is even more essential that I have the help of this service dog. This dog will improve the quality of my life, and allow me to do things that I thought were never possible. I lost my mom 3 years ago to cancer, but I know if she was here with me she wouldn't let me give up because of an obstacle like money. I know that this is possible I just need a little help.
