Dear Family and Friends and to all others who would like to lend a helping hand to our family.
While many of you may know Randy, you may not be aware that in 1969 while a high school freshman, Randy had his leg amputated due to life threatening osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. Although the leg amputation put an end to his being able to play football, baseball, and basketball, that didn't stop Randy from continuing his love for sports; his sophomore year he started his wrestling career along with reporting football, baseball and basketball stats to the BCT. After graduation, he assisted Senior Babe Ruth while still reporting high school stats to the BCT. Throughout the past 40 years, Randy has coached Florence Babe Ruth, Senior Babe Ruth, Pop Warner Football, Florence Recreation Basketball, both girls and boys teams. He also played Wheelchair Basketball for the Bordentown Elks for 20 years. Randy currently volunteers with the Florence High School Baseball, Football, and Basketball teams by reporting results to the newspapers. He uses a wheelchair to maneuver around the fields and has a van that he drives to games with wheelchair lift in it. The lift is on its last leg and is too old to get replacement parts. So we are asking for any help you can give us to replace the lift. Randy enjoys volunteering to help the student athletes of our community and would love to continue to do so for many more years.
