The Princess Warrior

Sarah was an active 11 year old girl who was on her way to  diving practice when they received word that she needed to report to the hospital.  She had been to see the doctor because she was having difficulty breathing. Testing showed a mass on her chest which turned out to be an overflow of leukemia cells. Her condition quickly deteriorated. As soon as she was strong enough she began a program of aggressive treatment which includes spinals infusions, ivs, oral medications and chemotherapy.

For many months Ray and Kim, as her parents,  carried the burden of Sarah's journey with leukemia sharing only with close family and friends. When the time was right, they shared it with all of us. Many of us wish we could help by doing such things as bringing in meals or doing chores around the house but distance prevents us from doing that. I have setup a "Go Fund Me" page to offer you a tangible way to show your love and concern for the Skinners on this journey.

What many of our Canadian friends and family will not know is the heavy burden that medical conditions can place on a family in the US. In addition to high premiums for health insurance, most plans today have high deductibles that need to be met before insurance kicks in. By high, I am talking about thousands of dollars. After that there are copays.

While Ray and Kim would say they are doing fine and would never ask for help, they do not need this additional financial burden at this time. If you are able to help lighten the burden by donating towards Sarah's medical expenses, this site offers you the opportunity to do that. If you are not able to do so at this time, I know they are ever so appreciative of your love, prayers and encouragements. They feel blessed to have you as part of their lives.
