Please take a quick moment to read our story. The Kent family still needs a little help, as we near the end of our journey. I'm a single mother, and I am raising four children ranging in ages 18 to 8 years old with almost no consistent outside support. The oldest 18 is a freshman at the University of Missouri, Columbia, the second oldest 17, a junior in High School, the third 13, in eighth grade and my youngest 8, in second grade. My primary goal as a single mother has been to inspire each of my children to pursue the goal of a strong education, and to provide a stable and loving home life, based upon nurturing and respectful values. This has required me to make ends meet with the limited time and odd hours available to me. For years I have struggled by working as an untrained home care aide and by constantly pursuing available sources of public and private support.

While my family has been blessed with the financial support and nurturance of many individuals along the way, over time I realized that as a single mother I needed additional education in order to obtain a position that would allow me to fully support my family. This led me to one simple conclusion: PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION. Almost two years ago, I enrolled in a full time program to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Thankfully, I've done well to date and I have almost finished my program. I plan to complete my coursework in May and take my State Boards in June.

While I have been in my Nursing program, my children and I have needed to rely even more on assistance from others. At this point in time I need an additional $18,000 in order to graduate from my program and obtain a nursing position that will secure my future financial independence. Whatever you can afford to give, be it $5, $50, $500 or more, will be vital, to the completion of my journey to financial independence. Crowd funding makes it possible for even the smallest of gifts to add up and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need

My dream for financial independence is almost a reality. Please consider giving whatever you can, and become part of the Kent family’s success.  All contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Zipora Kent
