Need a house, before city destroys ours

Donation protected
Hello.

Jennifer and I currently live in a trailer, in a trailer park, in San Antonio.  It is the same home my wife lived in with her monther, before she succumed to lung cancer.

Now, the city of San Antonio wants to rezone the land our trailer park is on.  The plan is to sell the entire park to a developer, so they can build "luxury apartments;" this in a very poor neighborhood.

They are only offering $2,000 to move.  Our trailer is too old to be moved, thus we need to find a new place to live.  We take care of sick cats (those with FIV, Leukemia), thus unable to get an apartment. Most shelters immediately KILL such cats, so giving them away is not an option.  We are often these kitties only chance at life.

Another complication is Jennifer's limited mobility.  She won a fight with uterine cancer, but the treatments destroyed her hips.  She was unable to walk without a walker for many years, and unable to even move sometimes for some days.  After multiple hip surgeries, she is now able to move without a walker, but she still has a distinct limit to the amount she can move.  She can walk for short distances, but stairs continue to be a major problem.  This limits the amount of places we can move to.

We may be able to afford a new house, but just barely.  When I lost my job last year, We had to spend most of our savings, as while I was looking for a job, I had to spend most of my time taking care of Jennifer, until she became more self sufficent after her hip repairing surgeries.

I do have a new job now, and we are building up our finances, but it is a challenge to have enough for a new house and to move, while only being in the new job for a scant few months, and with a time table not of our choosing, but the city and developer forcing when we must move.

Any amount you can give could really help us ensure we are able to move, before the city kicks us out to the street.
