Running for 4 amazing Charities

My name is Robert Hopkinson and I run marathons for charity.
I live in Bargara in beautiful Bundaberg, Queensland. It's a lovely seaside town filled with wonderful people. This year, I am running the Sunshine Coast marathon to raise money for T.G's Legacy (Still Birth), Survive to Thrive Nation, Aedans Crusade and Dorcas Soup Kitchen here in Bundaberg.
What makes my run special is that I dress up. And I push a pram. The pram weighs 11kg. My child weighs 20kg. Add another 5kgs of kids' toys, food and water and I'm pushing 41kg in the name of charity.
I do it because I have always appreciated the little things in life. I've always loved helping out people or organisations and to see a smile on their faces when I hand over much-needed money for things like fridges to store food they cook for the homeless and needy, that's just really great.
I don't keep any money that I raise. I pay all my expenses myself unless businesses decide to help donate with shoes or prams and I'm always very grateful for that. 100% of the money I raise this year will go directly to the soup kitchen.
Because of my costume and pushing a pram, I don't have the freedom to run a normal stride. But I have the freedom to make a difference in people's lives and I hope that's what I inspire in everyone who watches me go!
