Team David and Ro

We all know David and Roena (Ro) from all over SLCUSD. David worked in the Paint Department  and was hired on at Los Ranchos over the last 10 years, and is currently the Senior Custodian at Sinsheimer. Ro started working at SLO High in 2002, then moved to Crew Chief 1 at Laguna Middle School for 7 years, and has been the Senior Custodian at Monarch Grove since 2012. They have been together for over 15 years!

A few weeks ago, David was diagnosed with Stage 4, Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma. He will be having an 8-hour surgery at Stanford in mid-April. The surgery will involve removing all the lymph nodes on both sides of his neck and his thyroid. They will then continue his follow-up appointments at Stanford as well. He will be off work for an undetermined amount of time as of right now. Ro will be off intermittently to care for him during these difficult days ahead.

Due to David having neck surgery last year, he has exhausted all his sick/vacation days. With David’s loss of income in the recovery process, David and Ro will also have bills, hotel stays, and travel expenses among other unforeseen costs. Thank you in advance. Anything is greatly appreciated.
