Dear friends and family as many of you know Erik "Big E', "Uncle Erik" or "Johnny", the adult son of Patti Palmer and Ted Palmer was in a horrific accident on June 30th in Lake Havasu. He was struck by a parts truck and severely injured. Erik's injuries were so critical that the hospital in Lake Havasu decided to have him Medi-Flighted to Las Vegas. Patti, Ted, Angela, Alyssa and the Worley Family have been by Eriks side since his arrival. They have been staying in Las Vegas at the Hilton Vacation Resort in an effort to be as close to Erik as possible.
Day 6 update (Patti Palmer-Erik's Mom) wow can't believe it's been 6 days ! Erik continues to show some signs of improvement but with every step forward we seem to take a small step back which they tell use is common. He had a pretty good day yesterday after his abdominal procedure and the surgeon was very positive. However last nite his respiratory system struggled they had to increase his ventilator settings to keep his O2 sats up. It seems as though his internal organs are still putting lots of pressure on his lungs making it hard for them to expand. They are trying to wean him of the heavy sedation and put him on fentanyl which will help him control his pain but not be so so sedated. The doctor came in this morning and said his blood work looks the best he has seen since he has been here. He also told us Erik has had enough blood replacement for two people. The doctor also told us he won't release Erik until he is completely cleared medically. So he said best case Erik will be here another 2-3 weeks. So we continue to take each hour as it comes on this roller coaster. We are in awe of how strong our boy is..! He is a fighter I tell you. Thank you all for all the love, prayer and support I know it is helping all of us through..!
Many of you have offered help and support and I know that they would all (Palmer Family) like to thank you. Please consider making a donation to the family to help with the expenses that they will incur (rehabilitation, lodging, food, transportation, medical etc..). Medical bills will be astronomical. For those of you that know Erik, he is always the first to help anyone no matter what. Please consider showing him the love and support like he has shown to others.
