Hi, I am a 50 year old serving soldier in the British Army and have decided to compete in the Marathon Des Sables 2020. I have never run a marathon before!
I am raising money as an individual for the charity Walking with the Wounded. However I also have to raise the £4500 entry fee, as an individual, in order to compete. So far I have made a personal contribution of £2000, been granted £500 through the Army leaving me with a deficit of £2000 to raise. This deficit is separate from the charity fund raising for Walking with the Wounded.
I know many of you have huge admiration for our Armed Forces personnel especially those who have experienced life changing injuries in the line of duty. It is a huge privilege to compete in the Marathon Des Sables to raise funds for this worthwhile charity. Please help me to help them. Thank you
