Hi, my name is Beth, and I have been a resident of Yarm my entire life.
I am raising funds for a community garden and orchard in the Brickyard allotment area of Yarm. The aim of this project is to restore a sense of community within our local town and create a peaceful space where residents can connect with nature and one another. This initiative will provide a low-cost option for producing organic fruits and vegetables while offering opportunities to teach these skills to younger generations.
The orchard will be filled with fruit trees for everyone to enjoy for free. This space will also accommodate outdoor meditation, yoga practices, and nature walks. There will be numerous opportunities for learning and growth, as well as abundant wildlife, including bee hives and sensory activities for children—all aimed at fostering creativity in a positive and meaningful way.
The organisation will be self-sufficient and run by volunteers and myself. All donations will be directed toward the set-up, upkeep, and any necessary equipment or materials needed.
This project is very dear to my heart and holds significant importance for many reasons, the foremost being that I am doing this in honour of my son. I hope to provide a space that inspires creativity and healing—a new way of thinking and living that is positive and filled with love. Remember, while pain and suffering are inevitable in life, it is what we do with them that truly matters.
