Corra has been suffering over the past nine years with a neurological degenerative condition that has taken her from being a normal energetic fun loving young woman to where she is now, confined to bed, unable to perform any tasks for herself; she is perfectly sound in her thinking capacities and her hearing is sharp but although she has feeling and touch sensitivity, she no longer has the ability to control or initiate any movement in her lower limbs and both her arms now suffer chronic pain which has extremely limited their ability to move. She recently had a peg feed inserted into her stomach as her swallow reflex has failed her. This very sad deterioration has been watched by her eight year old daughter Kya who loves her dearly along with her mother and carer, Jen. Sadly her highly regarded Specialists have reached the end of their investigations and cannot determine the source or cure of her condition so it remains undiagnosed and unable to be treated.
This all began a short time prior to her pregnancy, when Corra experienced some visual blurring when she was exercising, but didn't think anything of it as it had only happened a couple of times. However about 5 months into her pregnancy she had to cease driving because her vision was clouded to the extent that she was unable to see clearly enough to safely negotiate traffic.
After the birth of her beautiful Kya, Corra was limited with taking Kya in her stroller because she couldn't see clearly enough to safely cross roads. Corra then began to tire easily and would develop a 'heaviness' particularly in one leg. Soon she was unable to walk unaided and would always need a shoulder or wall to lean on to prevent falling over. She very sadly had to say goodbye to her work and the very many friends she had made there which then added isolation and loneliness to her loss in independence. It wasn't long before she needed a wheelchair. Her body developed tremors which prevented her from being able to hold a cup or feed herself, thus another form of independence was sadly lost. Over the past 4-6 years Kya, Jen, her family and best friend Danny have been her world. Corra's speech is slow and labored and at times difficult to understand but she has never lost her faith and strength that she will recover and be restored. From the onset of her condition she has been strong in her conviction that her condition is temporary and is serving a purpose. It has been this faith that has enabled her to stay strong through each step of deterioration she has had to endure. Corra's Cause has been a Blessing and a Gift to Corra enabling her draw strength and much needed energy through the wonderful followers who show their compassion by sending her their support, best wishes and prayers in her time of need. Jointly you are all contributing to her healing far more than you could ever imagine and the gratitude of Corra and her family to each and every one of you is eternal.
