Paul York for ALS Compassionate Care

Tax deductible
Dear Friends,
Paul Cummings York is my hero. I am running in the Falmouth Road Race to raise money for Compassionate Care ALS because Paul was extremely grateful to that organization for the help they provided when he was diagnosed with ALS.

Although Paul's physical health got progressively worse for three years after being diagnosed with ALS, his appreciation for life never waivered.  He even kept his sense of humor. "What fresh hell is this?" (a funny line from the Big Bang Theory),was the question Paul asked when he had to new obstacles to overcome. When asked  if he was comfortable, he would say, "I do alright." And his favorite saying was, "It could be worse."  I couldn't help but wonder how much. Paul never once complained, and whenever someone asked how he was doing, he would answer,"Great!", and mean it.

Paul was able to handle ALS by living in the moment and maintaining a strong faith in a loving God. He was extremely grateful for any assistance he received and people's prayers. At the end of his life, when I promised to fundraise for CCALS in his honor, he was glad.

ALS is a cruel disease. CCALS is devoted to people who have it. They help people to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.

I am running the race in memory of Paul. Please consider donating. Small donations are good too! All donations are tax deductible. I will only campaign this one time.

Thank you!
Sincerely, Ruth Pinkus
