Help Mary Heal - Brain Injury

Please help my family and I get the medical care that I desperately need to finally begin the healing process.  I have endured five brain injuries with four being from concussions in the last nine and a half years from various accidents. I have also had two brain surgeries to remove a secondary arachnoid cyst that was caused by the first concussion in July 2005 when I was hit on the left side of my head with a ball. But the cyst returned after both surgeries within months in 2008 and 2009. I then had the second concussion due to a car accident in Aug. 2012 when my car was rear ended on the highway.  My third concussion injury is from a fall on the ice in Nov. 2013.  My fourth concussion due to a car accident in Aug. 2014 when my car was rear ended again. 

I am raising funds in order to have my brain’s injuries evaluated and treated at a specialty clinic in Louisiana using hyperbaric oxygen therapies.  These services are not offered locally for treatment of my brain injuries.  And so there will be travel, lodging, and food expenses for weeks at a time from Iowa for these trips.  These services are not covered by my health insurance so I would need to pay the expenses myself which I am currently unable to do without your donations.  If needed I may continue brain rehabilitation treatments at the Carrick Brain Center in Atlanta, GA after the HBOT therapies. 

I have been unable to recover well enough after the third concussion to continue to work to support my family.  I am a single mom of a college student and am taking care of elderly parents. I am the main caregiver and breadwinner in my family. I do not currently have a source of income to support us. The medical evaluation and treatments will help me to heal and recover so that I can return to work again.  Regaining my health will also allow me to be the mom, daughter, sister, and friend that I was meant and want to be.
