Around the ending of May my boyfriend jose barragan had a really bad asthma attack in school and ever since that day things have been going downhill. The following month, he received another asthma attack in the morning and was taken to the hospital. The doctors prescribed him with many medications that soon helped him out. We hung out the next week and while we were watching a movie he started having trouble breathing. So he went home to take his breathing treatment which thankfully helped him. The following week during the middle of the night he would wake up gasping for air. Then on June 29 in the afternoon his mother notice that when he would get up his face would turn pale.
She took him to the hospital right away. The doctors told him that he was dianosed with pheumonia. The nurses called his doctor to see what he wanted to do with him. His doctor then decided that he stay the night at the hospital. The next morning his doctor decided he should be transfered to texas children hospital, TX so they can treat him. Once he arrived at the hospital he was kept in the isolation room because the doctors there suspected he had tb. He received x-rays, cat scans, and they took his blood out for testing.
They concluded that he did not have tb. What they suspected now is pulmonary hypertension, for many of you who arent firmiliar with that dianose its where his heart works faster than ours to get oxygen into his lungs. They weren't sure how he got it so they performed a heart cath on June 2 it was very risky in his condition but it needed to be done. Thankfully he got through the surgury well and is now in the ICU room where they are starting his treatment. Slowly giving him the medication hoping that it works and his body will respond. The doctors concluded that worse case scenario they would have to perform a lung transplant.
I haven't heard from him since he went into surgury but I am hoping and praying that everthing turns out okay.
