Send Jen to London to See Kate Bush!

I have been a devoted fan of Kate Bush since a friend put "The Man with the Child in His Eyes" and "Running Up That Hill" on a mix tape for me in 1987, and I was entranced. At age sixteen, I had already missed her 1979 tour, and I never thought she would tour again. But for the next 20+ years, I swore that if I ever had the chance to see her in concert, I would swim the Atlantic Ocean to be there.

A couple of months ago, in a shock to her millions of fans, Kate Bush announced that she would be performing a series of concerts in London at the end of the summer. I was fortunate enough to get a ticket in the pre-sale, and I am going to London to see her perform on September third. I may not be swimming the Atlantic to get there, but I am doing something almost as ill-advised: paying for this trip entirely with a credit card, when I have only been inching along in paying off my existing credit card debt.

I have never followed any musician, or any other celebrity, with the consistent passion I have had for Kate Bush and her work. I chose to take on the additional debt because this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. But if any of my friends would like to help ease the financial strain this trip will cause, it would mean a lot to me. I will be arriving in London on my birthday, so this trip is a birthday gift to myself, and it could be an awesome birthday gift from you, too.
