My Name is Miriam Pereyra Garcia. My husband Rene Garcia and I have been in the process of adopting our son Christian Isaac from the country of Guatemala for over 7 years. We started his adoption when he was only one day old. We long for our son to finally be with us - His Forever Family.
We ask you to please help us raise the funds to complete his adoption. Christian needs to be seen for neurological disorder that cannot be treated for in the country of Guatemala. He needs additional eye surgeries and has also lost complete hearing in one of his ears. This has led to a delay in his speech and problems with pronunciation. We are DESPERATE to bring him home to the USA to attend to his medical needs.
We would like to ask you to please help us in prayer and/or with your financial support.
God has placed many wonderful people along the way that have helped us financially and with their prayers to continue the adoption for these 7 long years. While we attended one of his many court hearings, the judge in an attempted act to dissolve our adoption, gave us custody of our son hoping we would decline pursuit of the adoption. This led us to live in Guatemala for 2 years without a work visa and further straining our finances. At this point, we have financially exhausted every bit of our savings, stock and retirement attempting to bring him home. We have sold everything except our home in order to generate funds for his adoption. Like any loving parents, we would do anything to see our son happy and finally in his forever home and family.
We have been asked to prepare an entire new set of documents, ranging from home study, psychological evaluation and translations. We also have at least two more trips to Guatemala in order to complete our son's adoption. We estimate the costs for our final lap in the adoption process to be more than $10,000.
We do not want for our son Christian to have to wait more time to be with his family because Mom and Dad do not have any more money to finally finish his adoption.
