SSML's Stolen Car Replacement Fund

Beautiful Community,

I was in the process of buying a car from a friend. I hadn’t yet paid my friend for her car but had confirmed our purchase agreement, and the car got stolen on my watch. So where things stand is – I need to pay my friend for her (stolen) car, buy a different car and replace my daughter's car seat. It’s humbling to ask for help. But I do need help. I’m trying to raise $5,000.

One of the things that got taken along with that car and my other belongings is any idea that I may have had that I am on my own and without support. I’ve received emails, text messages and phone calls from friends wondering if there has been any news and how they can help. Within hours friends were asking for a PayPal account to help cover the cost of the stolen car, the car seat and even offering to pitch in toward the cost of a different car. It was shocking, humbling and I was just so completely and utterly grateful. My beautiful community of friends and family are showing me how to accept the help that is offered. Life is teaching me to step forward and ask for the help that I need. This is part of how community is built. I know that.
