Help bring my family home!

My name is Eddie Teran, and It's been nearly seven years since I've seen my folks on American Soil. Patricia & Luis Teran came to Los Angeles from Chihuahua, Mexico to begin a life with their baby boy Luis Jr., back in 1986. They settled in the San Fernando Valley, home of the Karate Kid, eventually adding me and my little sister Alondra to the tribe.

Over the years my folks started on the long road to Naturalized Citizenship. The Teran family dug deep roots here these last three decades - we've raised children here, we've graduated college here, we've created businesses here. Unfortunately, due to bad luck & bad timing, Mom, Dad & Luis Jr. were deported to Mexico on January 16, 2008.

As first generation Immigrants, I knew from a young age that my parents worked to the bone to make ends meat. Us three kids have always been told, "Son guerreros." "You are warriors, fighters." I'm proud to say we've all fought hard to make the best of our situation. We've come to the point now where we are planning to reunite in the States.

With help from our amazing friends and family, we've all managed to adjust & make peace with what has happened. Thanks to the power of the internet, my family and I are able to see and speak with each other often enough. What's tough is only being able to hug them when I am able to visit.

We're asking for a hand in dealing with the legal fees needed to file immigration petitions for their return to the States. I've spoken with Immigration Specialists in Los Angeles, and my folks have Three Years left of their deportation sentence. We have begun the process of collecting funds to help make this transition happen smoothly and safely. It's been astonishing to see how our friends and family have stepped up to support us, but now we must get a little more ambitious.

We are asking for support in a few ways:

- Donations, via our GoFundMe page, will go toward Lawyer & Immigration fees, and costs of moving to the States.

- Awareness, by sharing our GoFundMe and Facebook pages with anyone who may be moved by our story.

- Moral Support. We want our story heard, but we also want to hear from other people who have been through what we have.

Chihuahua, Mexico is nice, but it is not where my family calls home. My father built his Pool Service & Contractor business in Los Angeles, where he and my mother raised us. My Brother got his Bachelors degree in Psychology at UC Riverside, now unable to use it, and my little sister left her young life here to be near Mom & Dad. Things have changed from how they were seven years ago, but we're gonna do our best to make our world the way we want it.

Any and all help is appreciated. We've got a donation goal of $14K, a Facebook Page with updates and details we'd love for you to share, and also any advice & support would be great. Everyone who has helped us to find normal lives since that awful day in 2008 will be in our hearts forever.
