Friends... My name is Dawn Marie Svanoe. I am creating this fundraiser to help out one of my best friends in the world... Michelle Soltis. She and her husband Sid are the owners of Glitter to Gore, Mt Horeb. They have two young daughters, Amelia and Rowan. She IS aware of this but, she absolutely hates asking for help... so I am doing it for her. Everything posted here is with her permission. On July 4th Michelle's mental health had deteriorated to the point that she was ready to take her own life. It was a close call. She was so overwhelmed by stress and other health issues that it created a "perfect storm" that lead her to contemplate ending her life. Her husband Sid immediately took to her to the emergency room and she was admitted to Meriter hospital in Madison, WI. She stayed from July 4th to July 9th. The first thing the hospital did was make her sign a piece of paper acknowledging that it was $2400 /day to stay there for help. She didn’t have a choice... she needed an IMMEDIATE intervention. However, Michelle and Sid have no insurance because of a tight, self-employed budget. Knowing the bill was rising she wanted to leave. She ended up begging to be let out early because she also felt she had to get ready for a big contract gig and did not want to let everyone else down. (This is a big part of her dedication to others well being... which sadly contributes to her stress.) Michelle has many health conditions that have affected her, and is on medications (that were being adjusted at the time of her incident). That, combined with the stress, created the situation that happened. These conditions include: Endometriosis Hyperprolactinemia Hashimoto's disease and PTSD. The PTSD is a new diagnosis from this hospital stay. She is now in ongoing therapy to help keep this situation from happening again. However, due to this ongoing therapy, AND her necessary hospital stay, the business has fallen behind and so have their bills. This just adds to her stress... and their family is in serious need of financial help! This $20,000 will help scratch the surface of the medical, home, children's needs, and other financials that have fallen behind because of this emergency. Please, their situation is serious.
