<div>Just a year ago, we adopted <strong>Azula</strong> and were told she was only 3 years old. She is the sweetest Staffordshire Terrier Mix. Sadly, after an injury while playing, we learned during surgery that not only did she have a number of hidden health issues, but she is actually at least 6 years older than what we were lead to believe. With this comes health issues that we never could have prepared for so soon after adopting her.

<div>Recently, she went through TTA surgery on her back right knee after completely tearing the dog version of her ACL. There, the vet discovered she had a decayed tooth, which was removed. We also had bloodwork done to prep for the surgery that revealed she needs a special low-protein prescription diet as her kidney levels were high. During her surgery, we also scheduled for two masses to be removed and sent for testing. Both came back cancerous: one a blood cell tumor and the other a malignant mast cell tumor.

<div>Given her age and these diagnoses, Azula doesn’t have a high chance of having much time left. Instead of pursuing aggressive treatments, our focus is on comfort care. We aim to keep her pain-free, loved, and happy for however long she has. <strong>Every donation will go directly toward her surgeries, medications, special diet, any needed oncology appointments and ongoing comfort care so she can remain as blissful and happy as possible for the time she has left.</strong>
