I sit here typing my story in utter disbelief that it has come to this. A cry for help from my fellow humanity.
It started with the passing of both my parents in 2015. My personal demons reared their heads during the emotional turmoil that had encompassed my life that year.
After a battle of two-plus years, I emerged beaten but not broken (physically).
Financially, well, that's what brings me here.
The overwhelming hospital bills acquired by myself and my spouse coupled with reduced hours and subsequent recent loss of my job stressed our income well beyond the point of where ends meet. I went from being ahead to drastically behind in a few short months.
During this time frame, my landlord had taken me to court for monies in arrears and subsequently won her case.
A judgment was placed against me and a forfeiture of property was granted.
An eviction notice was served followed by an appeal on my behalf. This afforded me some time to regroup and restructure.
But the recent loss of my job was the last nail in the coffin.
The monthly rent that is paid by me to the prothonotary, which is held in escrow, keeping the appeal active, subsequently cannot be paid and the eviction process will now resume.
The forfeiture of my home to satisfy the judgment will be carried out, leaving us homeless and without a roof to store our personal belongings. I expect a letter from the courts any day now stating the process has continued so time is of the essence.
Applications for government and private assistance were filed to no avail and yielded nothing. I paid into a system my entire life and yet can extract nothing during times of financial emergency.
I am left standing amongst the wreckage of a once happy and bountiful life with nowhere to turn to.
Except you.
The monies generated from this campaign are solely for the satisfaction of the judgment (as well as court costs) placed against me resulting in the forfeiture of my home. Also to secure one to two months rent in advance, in order that I may find gainful employment without the threat of further legal action by my landlord.
Any and all formal documents that were presented to me via the courts and county offices are available for review upon request. I offer these in order to support the validity of my claim and the pursuit of donations for this campaign.
