Alex is a 17 year old boy from Parma Oh and the son of Lisa and Paul Svensen.   He is a junior at Normandy High School and is a very good student.  Alex is involved with the Drama Department at the school and this past October had the lead in the school play Pride and Prejudice.  In October Alex came down with a virus but he seemed to shake it off.  He was experiencing a lot of fatigue though following that illness.  In December he also started running fevers and he was diagnosed with Mononucleosis.  After not improving his parents took him to Rainbow Children’s Hospital on December 27th and after much testing he was diagnosed with HLH (Hemophagocytic  Lymphohistiocytosis) which is a very rare disease of the immune system.  On January 19th he was also diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Alex has been hospitalized since December 27 and his parents have been with him the whole time.  This will be a battle but with so many people who love Alex and his family they have an army behind them. There are many people looking to help so we’ve started this page in the hopes of raising money for the family to offset any costs they may face in this ongoing battle.  His mom has not been to work since he became ill and his dad has had to miss many days of work to be with Alex.  We ask that you please share this page on Facebook, through email or by word of mouth.

Thanks you for taking the time to read this and even if a donation isn’t possible, please send prayers and positive thoughts to Alex and his family.
