Haiti Mission

Dear friends and family, I want to share with you a huge opportunity God has presented to me. During August 29-September 7, I will be going to Haiti with a team from Highlands Church to work alongside Chances 4 Children. http://www.chances4children.org A little about Haiti and where I will be. I will fly into the capitol of Port Au Prince, and driving to a village called Kenscoff. This is where we will spend most of our time at the orphanage, a school, and the medical facility. Haiti’s population is 10.4 million and is considered the poorest country in the Americas. With an unemployment rate of 85%, three quarters of the population live on $2 or less per day. Between the poor economy and the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake, Haiti is pulsing for an overwhelming amount of help. I'm excited and nervous about this learning experience that lies ahead. I know it will put me in an environment that will force me to grow in ways I may or may not be ready for, but I feel the need is great, and I’m preparing myself to serve and grow with an open heart. Our missionary journey will focus on serving God by serving others. The reasons for this missionary journey for me are: • To minister to orphans who are in need. • To help with construction at the orphanage. • Provide vision screening and manufacture custom eyeglasses • To learn how God has wired me for ministry, for him to show me how he can use me in building his “…kingdom on earth, as it is in heaven.” • To let God bless the nations through me, through my life, and be an encouragement to the people of God in this part of the Caribbean. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people. I need to raise funds for the construction work and for items needed by the Orphanage by August 10, 2014. If you can support this trip in a financial way, I would be very grateful. If you would like to be part of this mission through your financial support, send a check to: Highlands Church, 9050 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85255 and put ‘Haiti – Miranda Mabry’ in the memo. All contributions are tax deductible and non-refundable. While your financial support is important, it is not nearly as important as my need for your prayer support. Because this is where our power for this journey lies I would like to know if I can count on you in that area. Please pray daily while we travel. Thank you! Blessings, Miranda Mabry
