House fire

On 12-26-2020 - Our neighbors - who we share a direct wall with - Had an electrical fire. The fire quickly spread to our bedroom wall, to the unit above us- and took everything in its destruction. Thankfully, I (Claudia) was able to get out, get our dogs out, and help evacuate the dog upstairs.
Unfortunately, the only help we've gotten from our landlords were texts like " We have ___________ unit available for immediate occupancy, rent is $1,050 , etc. etc."
They never showed up to the scene, they had no intention of even boarding up the complex - that still had SOME of our valuables. We (the tenants) had to call them to ask them when they were going to do so - their response "We had no idea the fire was that bad, we'll send someone out now" - only to find out they boarded up the units that were salvageable - and not our windows that led directly to what WAS our bedroom/home.
The direct result to that? A bunch of people/strangers/homeless ravaging through what was left in the debris.
Joaquin and I are trying to get the necessary funds to basically buy are necessities (bed/couch/home essentials) AND trying to get the necessary funds for 1st months rent/Security Deposit/ Pet Deposit (we have 2 dogs).
In addition, we plan to pursue legal action against our landlords. For negligence. So if you know of a Tenant Lawyer in Dallas, TX 75203 (Dallas is the county the fire took place at) - Please reach out to Joaquin or I . This campaign will help directly fund our needs for legal action, and to be able to rent out a new apartment
