I have been living in Thailand for a little over a year to train Muay Thai. I was a full time teacher in Phuket last year and still managed to train enough to have my first 7 professional fights. Now I have the opportunity to train full time and I've had 2 more fights since I began. There are 2 problems with that: 1. Although I'm slowly becoming a name here in Thailand, my paychecks for fighting are still not enough to cover all my living expenses and 2. With the government issues, tourist visas are difficult to obtain and limited after a certain number of uses.
For those who know me, you realize how hard it is for me to ask. But if nothing else, I am a fighter and I will fight for my dreams as much as I can. That leads me here... I am asking for help so that I may pay to take Thai language courses that will give me a hassle free stay in Thailand with an Education Visa for a year. I'm not asking for free donations; I'm willing to give back. I have 3 "gifts" for the highest donations: a mongkol and prajead set traditionally worn by Thai fighters during the Wai Khru and fight, a sacred amulet blessed by a monk that can be worn as a necklace or just kept around, and a pair of my custom shorts I wore in my 8th fight to honor my Godfather that passed away 2 1/2 weeks prior to the event. These shorts are very special to me. They have my name written in Thai across the front, my Godfather's name, Gary, on the waist band, and were made using his preferred color. When donating, please be specific as to which one you are "bidding" for.
I can promise I'm not one to waste opportunity, especially when I worked so hard and sacrificed so much to get where I am today. To all those who have called me an inspiration for following a dream, I'm begging for you to help me see this through. I am already humbled by writing this. With my whole heart, thank you.
