New wheels for an injured rider

Donation protected
Hello Fellow Bikers, Trail Builders and Cycling Community.

We have a friend and fellow rider who could use our help.  In August of last year, while out on a routine ride,  Lisa Power had a devastating crash.  The injuries she suffered were profound and she has spent the past seven months relearning even the most basic functions.  While this has been an unimaginably difficult time for her and her family there is good news.  She has fought hard and is making remarkable strides down the road to recovery and is excited to be moving back home from the rehabilitation centre, GF Strong, at the end of June.

Lisa has contributed greatly to the local biking and trail running communities, and even more so professionally. I now ask those that have benefited from Lisa’s generosity, directly or indirectly, and members of the community to help return some of the good will that Lisa has spread to us all.

She has always been one to see the best in life and live it to its fullest, and there are few things she loves more than biking. I am proposing to build her a custom electric tricycle to help her gain some independence and, eventually, get her back on the trails she loves so dearly. My goal is to create a one-of-a-kind tricycle custom made to accommodate the physical obstacles she faces as she recovers.

I have built similar bikes and I've estimated the costs for this project to be approximately $4000.

Base bike $300
Saddle with back rest and lateral support $350
front electric drive and lithium ion battery $1700 USD
Locking case instead of open basket
$350
custom paint  $300
Misc. parts and metal work $300

Any money raised over that amount will be donated to the family  to assist them in making adaptations to aid Lisa’s recovery, and also to G.F. Strong rehab center to assist with their continued work helping people get their lives back. For most of us the thought of going  a week or a month away from our favourite hobbies is unbearable.  So, I am asking you to support this project and our friend to give back the joy of mobility and biking  that is so integeral to all our lives.  Thank you to all who can contribute to this project and give her back her wheels.
