Metamorphosis is an organization that empowers, individuals that have/or are experiencing difficult life challenges, through character development workshops, lectures and seminars regarding gang intervention, sexual abuse, human sex trafficking,foster care, domestic violence,educational counseling, job readiness and delinquency prevention.
Our vision is for individuals to learn how to identify cultural, societal and systemic barriers that impede their current and future growth, and for individuals to transition and transform as they relinquish their past and walk into their future.
At her core, Alicia is a fighter. Her being is a motivation and her story speaks life into the mystery of South LA streets. A former drug dealer, gang member, abuse victim, teenage mother and high school dropout, Alicia has checked all of the statistic boxes but when God changed her life...she added USC Masters graduate, proud mother of 8 and Minister to her resume.
While at USC Alicia was a Norman Topping Scholar, Black Alumni scholar, and she received various awards and recognitions, which includes, the USC Ambassador award, USC Trojan Recognition Award, USC McDuffie Award, USC African American Honor Society, and the USC Henry Lederman Award. Her list of speaking engagements includes local churches, Group Homes, Juvenile halls and Colleges, which includes Project Unity, McClaren Hall,Going Straight Ministries, Love and Order, Victory Bible Church Pasadena,Loving Your Disabled Child, Sylmar Juvenile Hall, Eastlake Juvenile Hall, Los Angeles Transitional House, N.O.W., DCFS ILP, Long Beach City College, University of Southern California, Women and Youth Supporting Eachother(WYSE), USC Anthropology Gangs class, Stanford University (WYSE), University of California of Los Angeles (WSYE), Metamorphosis.
