¡Hola! Mi nombre es Vanessa Gutierrez Yepez, soy de Caracas, Venezuela, y junto con mi familia y amigos buscamos ayuda urgente para mi hermano, Rafael.
Rafael Gutierrez Yepez, "el gordo" como es llamado por cariño, es una persona increiblemente colaboradora, feliz, alegre, deportista, familiar, profesional, un ser incondicional. Por su caracter pareciera ser infalible, pero nadie lo és: desde el pasado domingo 5 de noviembre se encuentra inconsciente por un coma inducido, en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Centro Médico Docente La Trinidad, en Caracas. La razón es que una infección en sus pulmones no permite que Rafael respire por sí solo, y la infección es tal que depende de una máquina que le ayuda a cumplir con este proceso de manera artificial. Rafael fue diagnosticado con Sepsis de punto de partida respiratorio: infección respiratoria baja de etiología a confirmar.
La gravedad del asunto es tal, que tenemos prohibido trasladar a Rafael a otro centro médico pues el riesgo es muy alto, los médicos no han podido precisar con certeza cuánto tiempo estará mi hermano en la UTI, ni han podido indicar un tratamiento óptimo para este tipo de infección. Por los momentos se le recetó: fluconazol en 200mg, vancomicina 1g, meropenem 1g.
Rafa es muy fuerte y tiene la fortuna de contar con muchos amigos y familiares que nos están ayudando, lamentablemente la crisis por la que estamos atravesando y las precarias condiciones del sistema de salud nos obliga a pedir tu ayuda; el seguro apenas cubrió una parte del primer día que estuvo internado, la recuperación es un proceso muy lento y las medicinas escasas.

By his character, he seems to be infallible, but nobody is: since last Sunday, November 5, he is unconscious due to an induced coma, in the Intensive Care Unit of the Medical Center at La Trinidad, Caracas. The reason is that fungus lodged in his lung won't allow Rafael to breathe on his own, so he is depending on a machine that helps him to comply with this process artificially. Rafael was recently diagnosed with Sepsis.
The seriousness of the matter is such that transferring Rafael to another medical center is forbidden
because the risk would be very high, plus doctors have not been able to determine how long my brother will be in the Intensive Care Unit, nor have they been able to indicate an optimal treatment for this type of infection because it is a fungus. So far he is being dosed with: fluconazole in 200mg, vancomycin 1g, meropenem 1g.
Rafa is very strong and is fortunate to have many friends and family who are helping us, unfortunately, the crisis we are going through and the precarious conditions of the health system forces us to ask for your help; the insurance barely covered part of the first day he was interned, recovery is a very slow process and medicines are scarce.
