Desde hace dos semanas, el Archipiélago de San Andrés y Providencia ha sido duramente golpeado por 2 huracanes, y el día de ayer, sufrió los efectos del Huracán Iota de categoría 5, ocasionando la catástrofe natural más trascendental en toda su historia, que ha destrozó hogares de muchas familias, locales comerciales emblemáticos y los paisajes naturales más visitados de ambas islas.
De acuerdo con los datos de la alcaldía de San Andrés y Providencia, el Huracán Iota ha dejado un fallecido y ha destrozado el 98% de la infraestructura de Providencia. Sin embargo, aún se están contabilizando las afectaciones en todo el archipiélago.
Desde hace casi dos semanas, se están llevando a cabo censos para saber cuán afectado ha resultado el archipiélago de San Andrés y hemos establecido un canal a través del cual todos podemos contribuir con donaciones que van directamente a las víctimas de ambos huracanes.
Rolling San Andrés inició como una vía para mostrar todas las maravillas de nuestras islas y, actualmente, somos la guía virtual de turistas que por muchos años han preferido estos parajes para disfrutar sus vacaciones.
En este caso, creemos que también es nuestra responsabilidad hacer algo para recuperar un mágico archipiélago, en las condiciones óptimas para nativos y visitantes, pues son ustedes quienes dan vida a este pequeño paraíso que, justo cuando lograba recuperarse de los efectos económicos de la Pandemia, fue víctima de dos catástrofes naturales.
Por ello, nos hemos unido con quienes ya son nuestros aliados en la isla y prestan servicios al turista, para contribuir juntos a la recuperación del Archipiélago de San Andrés y Providencia.
Al aportar tu granito de arena, estarás contribuyendo con los fondos recaudados que serán destinados exclusivamente a las víctimas de los huracanes, en forma de:
- Alimentos no perecederos
- Agua embotellada
- Ropa, abrigo, mantas, colchones
- Linternas, lámparas
- Equipos de protección personal contra el Covid-19
- Productos de higiene personal
- Atención médica
Juntos atenderemos las necesidades más elementales de las víctimas del Huracanes Iota y Eta, en el menor tiempo posible. Además, esto nos permitirá recuperar los espacios naturales, turísticos y comerciales que son fundamentales para el crecimiento de la isla y de su gente.

For two weeks, the Archipelago of San Andrés and Providencia has been hard hit by 2 hurricanes, and yesterday, it suffered the effects of Category 5 Hurricane Iota, causing the most momentous natural catastrophe in its history, which has destroyed homes of many families, emblematic commercial premises and the most visited natural landscapes of both islands.
According to data from the San Andrés and Providencia mayor's office, Hurricane Iota has left one deceased and has destroyed 98% of Providencia's infrastructure. However, the effects are still being counted throughout the archipelago.
For almost two weeks, censuses have been carried out to find out how affected the archipelago of San Andrés has been and we have established a channel through which we can all contribute with donations that go directly to the victims of both hurricanes.
Rolling San Andrés began as a way to show all the wonders of our islands and, currently, we are the virtual guide for tourists who for many years have preferred these places to enjoy their vacations.
In this case, we believe that it is also our responsibility to do something to recover a magical archipelago, in the optimal conditions for natives and visitors, since it is you who give life to this small paradise that, just when it managed to recover from the economic effects of the Pandemic, was the victim of two natural catastrophes.
For this reason, we have joined forces with those who are already our allies on the island and provide services to tourists, to contribute together to the recovery of the Archipelago of San Andrés and Providencia.
By contributing your grain of sand, you will be contributing with the funds raised that will be destined exclusively to the victims of the hurricanes, in the form of:
- Nonperishable food
- Bottled water
- Clothes, coats, blankets, mattresses
- Flashlights, lamps
- Personal equipment against Covid-19
- Personal hygiene products
- Medical attention
Together we will attend to the most basic needs of the victims of Hurricanes Iota and Eta, in the shortest possible time. In addition, this will allow us to recover the natural, tourist and commercial spaces that are fundamental for the growth of the island and its people.
