It’s my turn to take care of her!

Hello everyone! For those who of you who don’t know me my name is Joanna Guzmán Rincón, daughter of María Isabel Rincón, 66, who is a passionate English teacher, graduated from the University of Miami, Florida, USA and has dedicated her whole life to teaching. In the last 30 years, she has worked for various schools in Caracas, which includes schools like the Cumbres Institute, Insight and more recently the Henry Clay as well working in Private Companies. Her passion for education has led her to dedicate her whole life the teaching of a second language with an authentic care and devotion.
Today I dare to open this page and come to you.
My mother has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus caused by a brain tumor.
I will tell you a little bit about her story, this way you can understand the process and the urgency of my mom's, "the Teacher Marisabel", health.

About 2 weeks ago we noticed she was very sleepy, she did not participate in conversations. For those of you who know her, you will know that her favorite subjects are religion and Venezuelan politics, but even to these themes of conversation she did not answer or engage with us, it seemed as if nothing mattered to her. She was also losing her short-term memory, that is, she did not remember what had just happened 5 minutes ago and acted as if nothing had happened.
These signals immediately made alarms start ringing in my head, even her friends noticed the unusual behaviors, and they shared their concern to see my mom like that. It was so unlike her and extremely disconcerting to see her acting like that.
Immediately we started the search for a good doctor, a task that has become increasingly difficult in these times of suffering in Venezuela. Several of the neurologists who were highly recommended to me had left the country or could not attend to her quickly. Finally, after another recommendation, fate was merciful and put us on the road to Dr. Vladimir Fuenmayor at the Centro Médico Docente La Trinidad.
As he was examining my mother and explaining the situation, he orders a brain resonance, where HIDROCEPHALIA is diagnosed (the term scares, but it was, according to him, a "positive" diagnosis, but any medical diagnosis when it comes to family is scary). Here is a link for those who want to know what it is:
https://www.mayoclinic.org/es-es/diseases-conditions/hydrocephalus/symptoms-causes/syc-20373604
Now that we knew it was Hydrocephalus we needed to know the cause of it, that is when Dr. Fuenmayor ordered to do a resonance, more specifically, in a specialized center called CAREMA. In these images a mass/tumor was discovered (still without determining if it is benign or malignant, that will be determined by the biopsy, which is to be done during the surgical intervention), this was determined as the cause of the Hydrocephalus. With this diagnosis and information in hand, Dr. Fuenmayor sends us to Dr.  Alvarado the Neurosurgeon (also Dr. at the Centro Médico Docente La Trinidad). He does so with urgency since the mass is approximately the size of a guava and due to its location, he worries that it may affect other important areas such as sight.
Both doctors agree on the diagnosis and that the ONLY solution is an EMERGENCY intervention to remove part of the tumor mass, because of its location it is dangerous to extract it in its entirety, then radiotherapy treatment must follow to eliminate the mass completely.
My mother has deteriorated quickly, she is very tired all the time, but she is absolutely aware of everything and very positive (that calms me down a lot), her faith keeps her steady. She is sure that she will come out of this thanks to the hand of God, the Virgin Mary and all of us. Thank you to our family and close friends for all the support we have received from them! They give us a lot of strength so that we can keep going! We have a lot of faith that my mom will come out very well from all this.
We are currently doing all the preoperative exams, so far all have gone well and have not given reasons not to operate immediately
I find myself DEJECTED by the economic situation and the absence of medical insurance. My mother has always taken care of me and now that it’s my turn I find myself unable to return her care. We are still waiting for the budget from the Clinic, and for those who do not live in Venezuela, it is a very sensitive issue due to the situation of supplies / medicines. The Dr. told us about an estimated $ 22,000 with hospitalization included, but without radiotherapy and medications after surgery.
This situation entails new economic challenges such as: consultations, exams, medicines, food, public service payments and everything necessary for recovery (between 3 to 5 months of rehabilitation), so she can recover her strength and re-establish herself, until she returns to being the same as before. We are hoping she can resume her life normally. So that she can enjoy her grandson, who loves his grandmother and deserves the chance to get many years with her, with her family and her friends, who are all worried and affected by this situation, and keep doing what she really loves and has always been passionate about: Teaching.
That's why I have come to appeal to your good will and your generosity, any donation or contribution means a lot to us, it is a ray hope and a chance for my mother to get better and stay with us. I thank you infinitely for taking the time to read, to learn about my mother, the amazing woman who raised me and to about know the situation we are going through right now. Unfortunately, we are not the only ones! We live in a country where it has become almost impossible to survive without help. It pains me dearly that we can no longer depend solely on ourselves to take care of our loves ones but must appeal to the good people on this site. Please help me take care of my mother today so that I may have the chance to continue doing so for years to come.

Thank you, thank you and a thousand more thanks for your cooperation, you do not know just how grateful we will be.
If you cannot help because of your personal situation, we understand perfectly. I ask that you to share it in your networks, and with your friends and family, in order to spread the word and give hope to my family, who know and love Marisabel dearly just like you.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/es-es/diseases-conditions/hydrocephalus/symptoms-causes/syc-20373604
