Apreciados amigos, nunca pensé que llegaría a necesitar pedir colaboración de la gente por temas de enfermedad, pero esta vez me ha tocado hacerlo.
Se trata de mi hermano menor, Alexis Baritto, original de Venezuela y quien en días recientes ha sido diagnosticado de TUMOR GERMINAL (SEMINOMA METASTÁSICO) VOLUMINOSO DEL MEDIASTINO.
Alexis es un ser humano excepcional, buen hermano, incansable trabajador y padre de tres excelentes muchachos cuyos valores dan fe de la gran calidad humana de su padre.
Cómo muchísimas personas en Venezuela, no dispone de un seguro médico privado que cubra los altísimos costos que deberá afrontar en los próximos días.
En virtud de la realidad de nuestro país, a todo lo requerido para cubrir ciclos de quimioterapia, gastos de aplicación del tratamiento, exámenes médicos de monitoreo semanales y atención de otras complicaciones que han venido surgiendo, hay que sumarle irremediablemente previsiones asociadas a las complicaciones por restricciones de movilización debido a la escasez de gasolina, así como los temas asociados a posibles fallas de disponibilidad de medicamentos que a veces resultan complicados de conseguir.
Por ello hemos definido una meta de recaudación que creemos realista, es decir, en torno a los 15.000 USD y que esperamos sea suficiente para cubrir satisfactoriamente esta primera fase.
Es por ello que molesto la atención de todos mis contactos y aquellas personas que deseen aportar su granito de arena a esta causa. Personalmente estaré coordinando esta campaña de recaudación, contando con el valiosísimo apoyo de nuestro gran amigo de la infancia, Luis Alberto Díaz, desde los Estados Unidos, de manera que pueden tener plena confianza que personas serias y responsables estarán administrando sus aportes para atender estrictamente todo lo relacionado con la enfermedad de mi hermano.

Dear friends, I never thought that I would need to ask for collaboration from people due to illness, but this time it was my turn.
It is about my younger brother, Alexis Baritto, originally from Venezuela and who in recent days has been diagnosed with a GERMINAL VOLUMINOUS TUMOR (METASTATIC SEMINOMA) OF THE MEDIASTINUM.
Alexis is an exceptional human being, a good brother, a tireless worker, and the father of three excellent boys whose own values reflect the great human qualities of their father.
Like many people in Venezuela, he does not have private health insurance to cover the huge costs that he will have to face in the coming days.
Due to current conditions in our country, in addition to everything required to cover the chemotherapy cycles, plus the costs of applying the treatment, weekly monitoring medical examinations, and care for other complications that have been arising, it is necessary to consider previsions associated with mobility restrictions due to the fuel shortage throughout the country, as well as possible drug availability failures that are sometimes difficult to obtain.
For this reason, we have defined a goal that we believe is realistic, that is, around USD 15,000 for this first phase, and that hope to be sufficient to successfully cover this first phase.
