<div>Mi nombre es Jean Rodríguez, y escribo esta campaña con el corazón en la mano por mi papá, José Inés Rodríguez Puertas, un hombre de 73 años que desde 2021 enfrenta con una fuerza admirable un cáncer de próstata avanzado con metástasis óseas.

<div>Ese año, después de múltiples estudios y una biopsia, recibió un diagnóstico que cambió nuestras vidas: Adenocarcinoma de próstata Gleason 8, etapa IV. Desde entonces, su camino ha estado lleno de tratamientos, recaídas, momentos difíciles, pero también de mucha fe y esperanza.

<div>Durante los primeros años, mi papá recibió quimioterapia y bloqueo androgénico total (BAT), lo que le permitió mantenerse estable hasta principios de 2023. Sin embargo, con el avance de la enfermedad, los niveles de PSA comenzaron a elevarse nuevamente y los médicos tuvieron que ajustar los tratamientos: primero Abiraterona, luego Enzalutamida, y actualmente Cabazitaxel y Zoladex.

<div>Lamentablemente, el cáncer ha mostrado resistencia a varias de estas terapias. Hoy los especialistas recomiendan realizar un panel genético molecular que permita definir un nuevo tratamiento con Keytruda (Pembrolizumab), un medicamento que podría ofrecerle una nueva esperanza de vida.

<div>El pasado 8 de septiembre de 2025, en una evaluación urológica, también se le diagnosticó obstrucción urinaria e hidronefrosis bilateral, lo que hace urgente el inicio de radioterapia para evitar complicaciones mayores.

<div>Mi papá es una persona muy querida por su familia, un hombre activo, positivo y con una enorme voluntad de vivir. Es un gran abuelo para sus tres nietos, y sueña con poder conocer al nuevo nieto o nieta que viene en camino, ya que mi esposa y yo esperamos un bebé pronto. Él sigue luchando cada día con esperanza, con ganas de seguir disfrutando de su familia y de los pequeños momentos que hacen que la vida valga la pena.

<div>Hoy más que nunca, necesitamos su apoyo. Mi papá es jubilado y sus ingresos no alcanzan para cubrir los altos costos de los estudios, medicamentos y terapias que necesita. Como familia hemos hecho todo lo posible, pero esta nueva etapa del tratamiento supera nuestras posibilidades.

<div>My name is Jean Rodríguez, and I’m writing this campaign for my father, José Inés Rodríguez Puertas, a 73-year-old man who has been bravely fighting advanced prostate cancer with bone metastases since 2021.

<div>That year, after multiple tests and a biopsy, he received a diagnosis that changed our lives forever: Prostate adenocarcinoma, Gleason 8, Stage IV. Since then, his journey has been filled with treatments, setbacks, hope, and endless determination to keep going.
</div>

<div>In the first few years, my dad underwent chemotherapy and total androgen blockade (BAT), which helped him stay stable until early 2023. However, as the cancer progressed, his PSA levels began to rise again, and doctors had to adjust treatments — first Abiraterone, then Enzalutamide, and currently Cabazitaxel and Zoladex.

<div>Unfortunately, the cancer has shown resistance to several of these therapies. Now, his doctors are recommending a genetic molecular panel to determine if he’s a candidate for Keytruda (Pembrolizumab) — a medication that could offer a new chance at life.

<div>On September 8, 2025, during a recent evaluation, he was also diagnosed with urinary obstruction and bilateral hydronephrosis, which makes starting radiation therapy urgently necessary.

<div>My dad is a beloved father, grandfather, and friend — a kind, active, and positive person who still has so much life in him. He is a wonderful grandfather to his three grandchildren, and he dreams of meeting the new grandchild that’s on the way, as my wife and I are expecting. He continues to fight every day with courage, faith, and an incredible will to live.

<div>Unfortunately, as a retiree, his income is not enough to cover the high costs of the tests, medications, and treatments he urgently needs. As a family, we’ve done everything we can, but this new stage has become financially overwhelming.
