<div>El 13 de julio de 2024 recibimos una noticia que cambió nuestras vidas: a mi mamá, Alejandra —o como todos la conocemos con cariño, Alita— le diagnosticaron cáncer de pulmón con metástasis en el cerebro y el bazo.

<div>Desde entonces, ha recorrido un camino muy difícil. Pero quienes conocen a Alita saben que es una mujer fuerte, alegre y con una sonrisa que nada puede apagar. A sus 69 años, ya ha superado dos infartos (en 2001 y 2016), y hoy enfrenta esta nueva batalla con la misma valentía.

<div>Ha pasado por quimioterapias, radioterapia y una cirugía cerebral que fue todo un éxito: lograron remover por completo el tumor en su cabeza. Actualmente continúa con tratamiento de inmunoterapia, que debe mantenerse al menos un año más. Gracias a eso, su salud ha mejorado mucho y el tumor en el pulmón ha disminuido significativamente.

<div>Ahora viene una nueva etapa de radiacion, quimioterapias e inmunoterapias enfocadas en el pulmón, higado y el bazo.

<div>Sin embargo, el tratamiento ha sido muy costoso. El seguro médico que tenía ya no cubre los gastos, pues llegó a su límite, y cambiar de aseguradora fue imposible por sus antecedentes médicos. Desde entonces, hemos costeado todo como familia: estudios, medicamentos, tratamientos… lo que ha generado una fuerte carga económica.
