<div>En enero de 2025, a Diego le diagnosticaron Leucemia Linfoblástica Aguda. Vivimos en Cabo San Lucas, pero su tratamiento es en el Hospital Salvatierra en La Paz, a casi dos horas de distancia.
</div>

<div>Los retos que enfrentamos son enormes—física, emocional y económicamente. Las estancias en el hospital son largas, y como padres solo podemos estar con él día y noche.
</div>

</div>
<div>El tratamiento durará aproximadamente tres años, y yo, Karina, tuve que dejar de trabajar para cuidar de Diego a tiempo completo. Vivir fuera de casa, los gastos médicos y los traslados han sido una carga muy fuerte para nosotros.

<div>A pesar de todo, estamos profundamente agradecidos por el amor y el apoyo que hemos recibido. Tu ayuda puede hacer una gran diferencia en esta lucha.

<div>Help Us Fight for Diego’s Life
</div>
<div>Hello, we are David and Karina, the parents of Diego. We want to share this photo we took a few years ago to honor the fight we are now facing for our son's health.
</div>

<div>In January 2025, Diego was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. We live in Cabo San Lucas, but his treatment takes place at Salvatierra Hospital in La Paz, nearly two hours away.
</div>

</div>
<div>The challenges we face are enormous—physically, emotionally, and financially. His hospital stays are long, and as his parents, all we can do is be by his side day and night.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The treatment will last approximately three years, and I, Karina, had to stop working to care for Diego full-time. Living away from home, medical expenses, and transportation have placed a heavy burden on our family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Despite the hardship, we are deeply grateful for the love and support we’ve received so far. Your help today can truly make a difference in this journey.

<div>En este momento, Diego está recibiendo la tercera dosis de su tercer esquema de tratamiento. Sus niveles de neutrófilos, que son sus defensas, están muy bajos. Esta semana es especialmente complicada porque se espera que sus defensas disminuyan aún más. La Dra. Garcilazo está trabajando arduamente para evitar cualquier complicación. Las dos primeras etapas del tratamiento fueron muy bien, y esperamos que esta y la siguiente también lo sean.

<div>Su novia Yuli está con él ahora, lo cual ayuda mucho a mantener su ánimo positivo.

<div>Mientras tanto, estoy en el departamento preparando la comida y tratando de descansar un poco, aunque no he podido dormir bien.

<div>**Update on Diego**

</div>
<div>Right now, Diego is receiving the third dose of his third treatment regimen. His neutrophil levels, which are his defenses, are very low. This week is particularly challenging as we expect his defenses to drop even further. Dr. Garcilazo is working hard to prevent any complications. The previous two rounds went very well, and we hope this one and the next will be the same.

<div>His girlfriend Yuli is with him now, which really helps keep his spirits up.

<div>Meanwhile, I'm at the apartment preparing meals and trying to get some rest, though I haven't been able to sleep well.
