</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Lo que hemos vivido</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<ul>
</ul>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Nuestra semana</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Dónde estamos ahora</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Lo que viene después</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Meta: $800,000 peso</strong>s, para cubrir de octubre de 2026 a julio de 2027:
</div>
<ul>
</ul>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
</div>

 Ivan has kidney failure and undergoes hemodialysis three times a week. We are currently going through the transplant process, and I, Bere, will be his donor. We are hoping to raise<strong> 800,000 MXN (roughly 44,500 USD)</strong> to cover medical and household expenses over the next nine months and to pay off the debts we have accumulated this year because of this situation. We are also in need of <strong>7 blood donors</strong>.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 My name is Bere, and Ivan and I are about to face one of the most difficult moments of our lives as a couple: a kidney transplant.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Ivan has always taken care of the people around him and built community around everything he loves, including Cruz Azul, sports, music, and technology. Today, we are the ones who need that same care from our family, our friends, and anyone willing to support us.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>What We've Been Through</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Everything began with diabetic retinopathy in November 2025, which left Ivan nearly blind. He underwent two surgeries on both eyes, along with ongoing treatments and monthly testing in the private healthcare system because that was what the situation required. That stage alone cost more than <strong>250,000 MXN</strong>.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Just as we were starting to recover from that, we received a diagnosis of kidney failure on New Year's Eve. Since then, the expenses have not stopped:
</div>
<ul>
 <li>Monthly medications, which are often unavailable through IMSS (Mexican Social Security)</li>
 <li>Ongoing treatment and follow-up examinations with a private ophthalmologist</li>
 <li>Specialist appointments, since IMSS only provides them every three months and we have had to pay for monthly private consultations</li>
 <li>Transportation, laboratory testing, and cleaning and protective supplies for the catheter</li>
</ul>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Although we own a small business and have the support of our family, this has been a full year of mounting expenses and growing debt. Today, our debts total nearly <strong>500,000 MXN</strong>.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Our Weekly Reality</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Ivan receives hemodialysis three times a week at Centro de Diagnóstico Ángeles (La Villa branch), a clinic contracted through IMSS. Each session leaves him exhausted, making it impossible for him to work that day. Afterwards, he must take an expensive nutritional supplement to regain strength.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 While he is in treatment, I stay in the waiting room, which also takes valuable hours away from my own work. The burden is not only medical costs, but also the work time that both of us lose every week to keep this treatment going.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Where We Are Now</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Since October, we have been undergoing the transplant evaluation process. If and when we get the doctor’s approval, and my tests come back favorable, I will be Ivan's living donor.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The process requires us to travel almost daily to the Specialty Hospital at La Raza National Medical Center for paperwork, testing, and specialist appointments. Most times, we arrive fasting and remain there until late afternoon, which means additional transportation and meal expenses as well.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Everything points to the surgery taking place there at IMSS, and that is an enormous blessing. In the private sector, surgery like this can cost anywhere <strong>from 800,000 MXN to 2,000,000 MXN</strong>. If for any reason it cannot be performed at IMSS, we will do everything possible to make it happen privately.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>What Comes Next</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The surgery is only part of the challenge. After the transplant, Ivan will need to spend approximately three months in near isolation, in a specially prepared recovery space that is clean, carpet-free, freshly painted with washable paint, and furnished with a new mattress and bedding.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 The anti-rejection medications that will protect the new kidney will also suppress his immune system, making even a common bacteria or virus a serious threat.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 During this period, neither of us will be able to work. Ivan because he will be recovering as the recipient, and me because I will be recovering as the donor.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>How the Funds Will Be Used</strong>
</div>
<div>
 <strong>Goal: 800,000 MXN. </strong>The funds raised will cover expenses from October 2026 through July 2027, including:
</div>
<ul>
 <li>Medical expenses before, during, and after surgery</li>
 <li>High-cost monthly medications, ophthalmic drops, and post-hemodialysis nutritional supplements</li>
 <li>Specialist consultations that IMSS cannot provide as frequently as needed</li>
 <li>Preparation of Ivan's recovery space, transportation, and caregiving expenses for both of us</li>
 <li>Household expenses while neither of us can work</li>
 <li>Repayment of debts incurred during this year of treatment</li>
</ul>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We will continue updating this page with our progress and a transparent accounting of how the funds are being used.

</div>
<div>
 None of this changes how we feel about each of you: our family, our friends, and those who may not know us personally but are reading this with compassion in their hearts.

 We understand that not everyone is in a position to help financially, and that is okay. We all carry our own burdens. Our gratitude and affection are not measured by donations.

 If you are able to contribute, any amount brings us one step closer to our goal.
