<div>Desde hace varios años, nuestra fundación (CONMAR) trabaja en la restauración coralina en Ecuador, a través de nuestro proyecto Corallium. <strong>Este esfuerzo no sería posible sin el apoyo de las comunidades</strong> costeras que, con compromiso y amor, se han convertido en una parte esencial de nuestro equipo.

<div><strong>NESTOR &amp; JESÚS </strong>son dos miembros de la comunidad de Los Ciriales, que desde que empezamos Corallium (2021) demostraron su entendimiento y compromiso por la conservación de los arrecifes de coral frente a su casa, El Islote Sucre. Al no ser buzos, ellos han buscado la forma de aportar su granito de arena al proyecto, sin embargo ahora queremos que puedan ayudarnos como siempre lo han soñado: bajo el agua.

<div><strong>Nestor </strong>se dedica al turismo. Con su familia tienen un restaurante y es guía de un sendero local. El nos ha apoyado fabricando las estructuras que utilizamos para restaurar, como las arañas y viveros. Nos ayuda a liderar y organizar actividades de educación ambiental, entre otras. Nos conmueve y motiva su disposición para aportar al proyecto de cualquier forma que pueda. Siempre estaremos agradecidos con Nestor ya que hemos recibido el mejor de los tratos de parte de él y su familia; quienes muchas veces nos reciben con un almuerzo al salir del agua.

<div><strong>Jesús </strong>solía salir a pescar, pero después de recibir varias amenazas decidió dejar de hacerlo y dedicarse al turismo de snorkel y senderismo en su comunidad. Ahora depende del turismo y del trabajo que le da CONMAR. Jesús nos ayuda principalmente llevándonos con su embarcación a los sitios de trabajo y siempre esta atento a cualquier novedad mientras estamos en el agua, esto muchas veces junto sus hijos: Brisney y Snaider, y sus dos perritos: Peluche y Oso.

<div>Sobretodo a ambos los caracteriza sus buenas energías, el amor por el proyecto y su predisposición.
</div>

<div>Hoy queremos dar un paso más a su misión en el proyecto. Queremos que su trabajo continúe bajo el agua, y <strong>entrenarlos para que puedan realizar mas trabajos de jardineros de coral</strong>: Dar mantenimiento y monitorear nuestros viveros de corales bajo el agua, entre otras actividades.

<div><strong>Para esto el primer paso es que puedan completar el curso de buceo, por lo que necesitamos tu ayuda. Queremos darles la oportunidad de convertirse en buzos certificados para poder integrarlos en nuestras actividades de restauración y monitoreo coralino bajo el agua, y así brindarles otra fuente de ingresos económicos.</strong>

<div>Help Us Certify Two Coral Guardians as Divers!

<div>For the past several years, our foundation, CONMAR, has been working on coral reef restoration in Ecuador through our project Corallium. <strong>This effort wouldn’t be possible without the support of the coastal communities</strong> who, with commitment and love, have become an essential part of our team.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>NÉSTOR &amp; JESÚS</strong> are two community members from Los Ciriales who, since we started Corallium in 2021, have shown a deep understanding and commitment to conserving the coral reefs in front of their home, Islote Sucre.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Even though they are not divers, they’ve found meaningful ways to contribute to the project. Now, we want to help them support the reef as they’ve always dreamed: from beneath the surface.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Néstor</strong> works in tourism. With his family, he runs a small restaurant and leads a local nature trail. He has helped us build the structures we use for restoration, such as coral trees and spider frames. He also helps lead and organize environmental education activities. We are deeply moved by his willingness to help however he can. We are especially grateful to Néstor and his family for always treating us with kindness, often welcoming us with a warm homemade meal after long dives.

<div><strong>Jesús </strong>used to be a fisherman, but after facing multiple threats, he chose to leave fishing and turn to tourism and is now working as a snorkeling and hiking guide in his community. Today, he depends on tourism and the work provided by CONMAR. He helps transport our team to the coral sites on his boat and watches over us while we dive, often accompanied by his children, Brisney and Snaider, and their two dogs, Peluche and Oso.

<div><strong>What truly defines both Néstor and Jesús is their positive energy, love for the project, and unwavering dedication.</strong>

<div><strong>Today, we want to take their mission to the next level. We want to train them as coral gardeners so they can dive with us, maintain our coral nurseries, monitor reef health, and take on more restoration work underwater.</strong>
