Ayúdanos a vencer el cáncer de mi papá

Es difícil pensar que pocos meses después de que celebramos el cumpleaños 64 de mi papá, cantándole “When I’m 64” de The Beatles, nos volvimos a encontrar, pero ahora para apoyarlo en su lucha por la vida.

Mi nombre es Patricia Estada Cortes y mi papá, Jesús Estrada Luzardo, padece cáncer de colon fase IV con metástasis en hígado y pulmón.

Mi papá no cuenta con ninguna pensión ni jubilación. La cobertura de su seguro privado se agotó al cubrir los gastos de una primera cirugía, con la cual los cirujanos le extirparían el tumor del colon. Sin embargo, fue en ese momento cuando los especialistas descubrieron que el cáncer se había extendido más de lo previsto inicialmente hacia otros órganos, por eso no siguieron adelante con la extirpación. Desde entonces, las esperanzas para mi papá están puestas en seguir un tratamiento de sesiones quincenales de quimioterapia, que deben ser complementadas con el medicamento Erbitux (o Vectibix), el cual tiene un precio de casi 270 dólares cada dosis.

Mi papá y mi mamá vivían en San Cristóbal, Venezuela, pero para poder atender su enfermedad se mudaron a la ciudad de Caracas. Como saben, Venezuela está atravesando por una grave crisis económica que se ve reflejada en la escasez de medicamentos y en un constante aumento de precios de las medicinas. Tenemos que obtener en el exterior todos los medicamentos para sus quimioterapias, pero a precios altísimos debido a la devaluación de nuestra moneda (Bolívar).

Les solicitamos toda la ayuda monetaria que nos puedan brindar para recolectar 40,000 dólares que permitirán garantizarle a mi papá el tratamiento médico para los próximos 13 meses, lo que le permitirá seguir con vida y que pueda disfrutar de su esposa, hijos y nietos pequeños. Los donativos se pueden hacer en dólares o en bolívares.

Help us defit my dad’s cancer

It’s hard to think that a few months earlier we celebrated my father’s birthday number 64 singing: “when I’m 64”song of “The Beatles”, We met again (because I was out of the country) and now my family and I have to support him in this struggle for life.

My name is Maria Patricia Estrada and my father´s name Jesus Estrada, he is suffering of colon cancer stage 4 with metastasis in liver and colon.

My dad doesn’t count with any pension or retirement. The coverage of his private insurance is out of cover; because of the expenses of an initial surgery, in which the doctors will supposed to remove the tumor, but sadly, they couldn’t because the cancer was already spreaded through the entire colon and also in liver and lungs. Because of this reason the doctors decided not to go through the surgery. Since that moment my father’s hope and ours is in receive quimotherapy treatment every 15 days, and this treatment has to be complemented with a very expensive but effective medicine called ”Erbitux” or “Vectibix” which has a price of 270 dollars each blister.

My father and my mother used to live in our hometown San Cristóbal, Venezuela, but in order to treat his illness, they had to move to Caracas, Venezuela. Our country as you must know is going through the worst economic crisis in decades and it shows in a constant increase of medicines, and these types of medicines that are for these diseases. For this reason, we have to buy him his treatment abroad because there is none here, but at a very high cost for us due to the devaluation of our National coin “Bolivar”.

We need all the financial help you can give us to collect 40.000 dollars which will alow my dad to completed his medical treatment for next 13 months, keep him alive and most significantly, he will be able to enjoy life with his wife, son, daughters and grandchildren.
