AYUDEMOS A GABRIEL A VENCER SU CÁNCER EN EL CEREBRO
Hola, mi nombre es Gabriel Garcia, soy venezolano y tengo 30 años. Tengo un tumor cancerígeno inoperable en el cerebro, el cual sigue creciendo y requiere tratamiento urgente. Necesito de la ayuda de todos los que puedan apoyarme para seguir viviendo.
Mi historia comienza en el 2016, cuando viviendo en Buenos Aires, Argentina, me detectaron un tumor en el cerebelo. Desde ese momento comenzó mi lucha por vencerlo.
Inicialmente no tenía un diagnóstico claro, recibí 28 sesiones de radioterapia, durante el 2018, que lograron detener su crecimiento momentáneamente.
Aclaro que entre el 2016 y 2017, no pude iniciar ningún tratamiento para el tumor, ya que tuve que ocuparme de una infección en mi cadera, por el daño producido por el efecto de los corticoides que estuve tomando inicialmente, para los fuertes dolores de cabeza, y que terminaron en una operación de una prótesis de cadera.
Una vez recuperado de mi operación de cadera, en octubre de 2019, logré conseguir un diagnóstico en EE.UU., llamando al tumor Glioblastoma - Astrocitoma Difuso de Grado 2, confirmando que es un tumor cancerígeno. Con este diagnóstico inicié, en noviembre de 2019, en Argentina, un tratamiento de 4 ciclos de quimioterapia de carboplatino y vinorelbine. El tratamiento no tuvo el efecto esperado ya que el tumor seguió creciendo.
En marzo de 2020, conseguí una consulta en The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center en Houston, especialistas en cáncer cerebral. Viajé en búsqueda de un diagnóstico más preciso y del tratamiento indicado, para que me lo administraran en Argentina. Sin embargo, debido a la pandemia mundial, no he podido regresar a Argentina, para iniciar el tratamiento.
En espera de todo esto, el tumor siguió y sigue creciendo, requiriendo que inicie un tratamiento la antes posible. Estando en Houston, tuve que someterme a una cirugía para colocar una válvula en mi cabeza, que me ayude a aliviar los fuertes dolores producidos por el fluido acumulado por el tumor.
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center en Houston, me ofreció iniciar una quimioterapia de temozolomide, por una semana, que tampoco dio resultados positivos.
Los especialistas en Houston determinaron que el tratamiento indicado para combatir mi tumor es una quimioterapia intravenosa con Avastin.
Acudo a solicitar su colaboración, ya que necesito el tratamiento de manera urgente y ya hemos agotado todos nuestros recursos económicos. El nuevo tratamiento consiste en 6 ciclos de quimioterapia el cual tiene un costo, cada uno, de $49,296.50 USD, razón por la cual necesito llegar a mi objetivo final de $295.779 USD.
Inicié esta campaña para recaudar los fondos para los primeros ciclos de quimioterapia con un objetivo de $50.000 USD y según los resultados ir avanzando en el tratamiento.

Hello everyone, my name is Gabriel Garcia I am from Venezuela and I am 30 years old today, I want to share my story that only a few people know, but today I need the help of everyone in order to continue living.
My story begins in 2016 when I was diagnosed with a tumor in the brain stem which is inoperable, this happened while living in Buenos Aires, Argentina, since that day my struggle to overcome this tumor began. Initially doctors did not have a clear diagnosis, so I only received 28 radiotherapy sessions during 2018 that managed to stop its growth momentarily
I want to clarified that prior to this date I could not start any treatment on that tumor, since I had to deal with an infection in my hip due to the damage caused by the effect of the corticosteroids that I was taking initially, which resulted in an operation for a hip prosthesis.
Once I recovered from my hip surgery in October 2019, I managed to get a diagnosis in the USA and they told me it was a tumor called Glioblastoma - Diffuse Astrocytoma Grade 2, confirming that it was a cancerous tumor, with this diagnosis they applied 4 cycles of carboplatin chemotherapy and Vinorelbine in Argentina that started in November 2019 until February 2020, but did not have the expected effect since the tumor continued to grow.
In March 2020, I got an appointment at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, who are specialists in brain cancer, looking for a better treatment that could be administered in Argentina. However, due to the global pandemic, I haven´t been able to return and continue the treatment due to the closure of borders and the risk of COVID-19.
In the meantime, the tumor continued and continues to grow; requiring that I start treatment as soon as possible, I even had to undergo surgery to place a shunt valve on my head to relieve pain caused by the fluid accumulated by the tumor in my brain.
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where I got the appointment, offered me to start with temozolomide chemotherapy for a week, but it did not have positive results either. We have already exhausted all our financial resources to continue with the new chemotherapy intravenously with Avastin (Bevacizumab), so that´s why I need your collaboration to be able to start treatment urgently.
In this new treatment, they indicated 6 cycles of chemotherapy which each costs $49,296.50 USD, this is the reason why I need to reach my final goal of $ 295,779.
I started this campaign to raise funds for the first cycles of chemotherapy with a goal of $50,000 USD and according to the results; I can continue my progress in the treatment and with your help for my recovery, until I can return to my resident country Argentina.
