<div>My name is Andres Caicedo, I am 19 years old, and I am a college student in Riverside, California. I am starting this fundraiser because my father, Cesar Caicedo, was detained by ICE on July 3, 2025, and since then I have been on my own trying to support us while continuing my studies and paying for a lawyer for my father. We came to the United States within a asylum status from Colombia, three years ago. with time we obtained work permits and Social Security numbers. Before coming here, my father owned his own car air conditioning business in Colombia, and here in the United States, he has worked tirelessly in restaurants, making deliveries, as a mechanic, and as an Amazon driver. After graduating from high school in June 2025, we moved to Riverside to start over. We celebrated his birthday on July 2; the next day, while making deliveries, he was detained. In January, he was denied bail despite having a sponsor, housing, and a stable work history. His case is still active. Since then, I've had to cover all expenses alone: ​​rent, utilities, food, transportation, legal fees, and more. At the same time, I'm studying a college student, working at an Amazon warehouse, and volunteering at the campus's undocumented students office, helping other young people who want to continue their education. There were some very difficult times. I worked 10- to 11-hour days and then went to class with only three or four hours of sleep just to keep us afloat. Today, I'm still fighting, but I've learned to ask for help. Thanks to an educational program, I'll be able to live on the UC Riverside campus while I continue my studies, which will allow me to reduce expenses and focus on my future. This fundraiser aims to help me cover several months of rent and basic expenses, my educational costs, and my father's attorney fees so he can continue fighting his case legally and apply for bail again, if possible. My father is a hardworking, respectful, and dedicated man who simply wants to support my education again and rebuild our life together. <div>Mi nombre es César Andrés Caicedo , tengo 19 años y soy estudiante universitario en Riverside, California. Inicio esta recaudación de fondos porque mi padre, César Asdrúbal Caicedo Pulido, fue detenido por ICE el 3 de julio de 2025, y desde entonces he estado solo tratando de mantenernos mientras continúo mis estudios y pago los honorarios del abogado de mi padre. Llegamos a Estados Unidos con estatus de asilo desde Colombia hace tres años. Con el tiempo obtuvimos permisos de trabajo y números de Seguro Social. Antes de venir aquí, mi padre tenía su propio negocio de aire acondicionado para automóviles en Colombia, y aquí en Estados Unidos ha trabajado incansablemente en restaurantes, haciendo entregas, como mecánico y como conductor de Amazon. Después de graduarme de la escuela secundaria en junio de 2025, nos mudamos a Riverside para empezar de nuevo. Celebramos su cumpleaños el 2 de julio; al día siguiente, mientras hacía entregas, fue detenido. En enero, se le negó la fianza a pesar de tener un patrocinador, vivienda y un historial laboral estable. Su caso sigue activo. Desde entonces, he tenido que cubrir todos los gastos solo: alquiler, servicios públicos, comida, transporte, honorarios legales y más. Al mismo tiempo, soy estudiante universitario, trabajo en un almacén de Amazon y soy voluntario en la oficina de estudiantes indocumentados del campus, ayudando a otros jóvenes que quieren continuar su educación. Hubo momentos muy difíciles. Trabajaba jornadas de 10 a 11 horas y luego iba a clase con solo tres o cuatro horas de sueño para poder salir adelante. Hoy sigo luchando, pero he aprendido a pedir ayuda. Gracias a un programa educativo, podré vivir en el campus de la UC Riverside mientras continúo mis estudios, lo que me permitirá reducir gastos y concentrarme en mi futuro. Esta recaudación de fondos tiene como objetivo ayudarme a cubrir varios meses de alquiler y gastos básicos, mis costos educativos y los honorarios del abogado de mi padre para que pueda seguir luchando legalmente por su caso y solicitar la fianza nuevamente, si es posible.
