Hola, mi nombre es Melissa, y con el corazón en la mano les pido ayuda para mi mamá, Ana. 
 
Ana tiene 64 años y actualmente se encuentra detenida en un centro de detención de inmigración, tras un desafortunado incidente el 7 de abril. Ella tomó un giro equivocado cerca de una base de marines y fue detenida. Al no contar con documentos legales, inmigración fue contactado de inmediato y se la llevaron. 
 
Mi mamá está en una situación de salud muy delicada. Padece de diabetes y de una seria condición vascular que afecta la circulación de sangre en su pie. Ya ha sido sometida a dos cirugías vasculares para abrirle las arterias y evitar complicaciones mayores. Además, depende de medicamentos diarios tanto para la diabetes como para su circulación. 
 
Hasta el día de hoy, 9 de mayo, mi mamá sigue en el centro de detención, esperando su cita en la corte el 28 de mayo a la 1:00 PM. Seguimos con la esperanza de que esa fecha traiga una decisión final—una que nos permita estar juntos nuevamente. 
 
Mientras tanto, el dinero que he estado recaudando lo estoy utilizando para apoyarla mientras está allí: recargando su cuenta de la comisaría, agregando minutos para que podamos hablar por teléfono, y haciéndola sentir acompañada en este proceso. 
 
Si la corte decide que debe regresar a México, quiero asegurarme de que no tenga que empezar de cero. Estoy haciendo todo lo posible para prepararla para esa posibilidad—tanto emocional como económicamente.

Because she did not have legal documentation, immigration was contacted immediately, and she was taken into custody. 
 
My mom is in very delicate health. She suffers from diabetes and a serious vascular condition that affects blood circulation to her foot. She has already undergone two vascular surgeries to open her arteries and prevent further complications. She also relies on daily medication for both her diabetes and her circulation. 
 
As of today, May 9, my mom is still in the detention center, waiting for her court date on May 28 at 1:00 PM. We’re holding onto hope that this will bring a final decision—one that reunites us. 
 
In the meantime, the money I’ve been raising is going toward supporting her while she's inside: adding funds to her commissary account, keeping her phone connected so we can talk, and helping her feel less alone through it all. 
 
If the court decides she has to return to Mexico, I want to make sure she’s not starting over empty-handed. I’m doing everything I can to prepare her for that possibility—emotionally and financially.
