<div>En la mañana del 16 de octubre de 2023, mi esposo Edwin Amaya sufrió un terrible accidente automovilístico camino al trabajo. Su vehículo volcó antes de chocar contra un árbol. Fue trasladado en helicóptero al hospital, donde se requirió una cirugía de emergencia para reparar su columna vertebral fracturada. Además de su columna dañada, Edwin tiene cinco costillas rotas y un 75% de daño en su pulmón izquierdo. Actualmente se encuentra en el hospital comenzando su largo proceso de recuperación después de una exitosa cirugía de ocho horas.

<div>Las facturas del hospital ya se están acumulando y se estima que alcanzarán decenas de miles de dólares. La gravedad de las lesiones de Edwin significa que no podrá continuar con su trabajo diario como escalador de árboles. <div>On the morning of October 16th, 2023 my husband Edwin Amaya suffered a terrible car accident on his way to work. His vehicle rolled over before impacting a tree. He was airlifted to the hospital where emergency surgery was required to fix a broken spine. In addition to his injured spine, Edwin has five broken ribs and damaged 75% of his left lung. He is currently in the hospital beginning his long recovery process after having a successful eight hour surgery.

<div>Hospital bills are already piling up and they are estimated to reach tens of thousands of dollars. The extent of Edwins injuries means Edwin will not be able to do his everyday job as a tree climber anymore. Therefore, we are asking for assistance in covering the accumulated costs between the care at the hospital, and recovery process. We greatly appreciate any help, no matter how small it is.
