Miguel es un joven de 19 años lleno de vida, excelente hijo, hermano, amigo, pero por sobre todo excelente ser humano.
Desde hace un año Miguel empezó a tener síntomas de cansancio, agotamiento físico y dolor abdominal que llevaron a sus abnegados padres, Elsy Victoria Morales y Gustavo Rondon, a realizar todas las pruebas pertinentes. Los primeros hallazgos fueron un conteo bajo en su nivel plaquetario que se mantenía constantemente en descenso. A pesar del cuidado y tratamiento sus plaquetas continuaron bajando sin que haya habido en un año una recuperación.
Miguel ha pasado por varios especialistas, se le han hecho numerosos estudios, incluyendo punción de la medula, y, a pesar de que estamos próximos a tener un diagnóstico, después de un año aun no se sabe con certeza que esta sucediendo en el cuerpo de Miguel.
Hoy en día su estado físico está muy afectado… Su nivel plaquetario sigue bajo, los estudios indican una afección hepática severa y su cerebro esta sufriendo ya los efectos de una enfermedad sin diagnóstico por más de un año (dificultad al hablar, motricidad limitada, sus estados de alerta). El médico especialista sospecha que Miguel tiene la Enfermedad de Wilson (Degeneración Hepatolenticular) y se están realizando los últimos exámenes para poder confirmar esta sospecha.
Estamos próximos a tener un diagnóstico definitivo para saber qué tratamiento puede mejorarlo, pero mientras tanto Miguel necesita tener cuidados y una dieta especial que implica un monto que actualmente sus padres no pueden costear. Adicionalmente se necesitan realizar exámenes médicos que no están cubiertos por el seguro. Todo esto aunado que con la pandemia el ingreso familiar ha sido duramente impactado.
Miguel y su familia son ejemplo de amigos, de cristianos que han ayudado siempre a su comunidad de manera desinteresada. ¡Es nuestro momento ahora de ayudarlos! Help of love for Miguel!
Miguel is a 19-year-old full of life, excellent son, brother, friend, but above all excellent human being.
A year ago Miguel began to have symptoms of tiredness, physical exhaustion and abdominal pain that led his selfless parents, Elsy Victoria Morales and Gustavo Rondon, to perform all the relevant tests. The first findings were a low platelet level count that remained constantly declining. Despite care and treatment, his platelets continued to drop without a recovery in a year.
Miguel has gone through several specialists, he has been part of several studies, including spinal cord puncture, and, although we are close to having a diagnosis, after a year it is not yet known for certain what is happening in Miguel's body.
Today his health is highly affected... His platelet level is still low, studies indicate a severe liver condition and his brain is already suffering the effects of an undiagnosed disease for more than a year (difficulty speaking, limited motor skills, his alertness). The specialist doctor suspects Miguel has Wilson's disease (Hepatolenticular Degeneration) and the latest tests are underway to confirm this suspicion.
We are close to having a definitive diagnosis to know what treatment can improve it, but in the meantime Miguel needs to have special care and a special diet that involves an amount that his parents currently cannot afford. In addition, medical examinations that are not covered by insurance are needed. Moreover, with the pandemic, household income has been hit hard.
Miguel and his family are examples of friends, of Christians who have always helped their community selflessly. It's our time now to help them!
